Paul Plener

Biography
Prof. Plener currently works at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Medical University of Vienna and took over the Chair of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at MedUni Vienna in April 2018. He does research in child and adolescent psychiatry and his research focus is on non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) and suicidal behavior in adolescents as well as on traumatic stress in childhood and adolescence. Prof. Plener has received numerous scholarships and awards, such as the Donald J. Cohen Fellowship and the Emminghaus Prize. He is on the editorial board of several specialist journals, serves on a number of guideline committees and is a member of numerous international professional societies.
